As part of some cultures, the hummingbird has been represented as a memory if our passed loved ones. In this painting, I represent a loved one in her goats (meaning bon fire). Fogatas were constructed of adobe and generally didn’t have any windows therefore the kitchen would fill up with smoke.
This beautiful depiction uses a variation of warm, heart-opening vibrant colors. I utilized preserved leafs on the painting and micro-beads in the center of the marigold flower.
