There are many versions to the story, but the one l gathered together from multiple sources took place in Michiocan, Mexico. He was lost and the town looked for him everywhere. He was found in the midst of a large field covered with maiz plants. It made me question, what he felt in the moment. Was he scared? Was he at peace? Was he fully immersed to his surrounding environment? He was found in the fields that he worked for soooo many years. His hands marked in the worked soil. The wind, the ground, the essence of life and the eternal silence embracing him. I wonder so much about this day. I can only dream.
This piece took me through so many emotions especially in the very beginning. This journey taught me to question so much more about my ancestors and roots. I reflected and traveled to a place that words can not express.
I am so thankful for the teachings and the art that never stops me from dreaming.
